Ice chills a drink and adds water. Spirit-led drinks often taste harsh before dilution. In a pre-diluted batch, water replaces some of the water that stirring would normally add.
Put it into practice
Our dilution percentage is added water divided by undiluted batch ingredients. It is not water as a percentage of final volume. 20% on 100 ml adds 20 ml and produces 120 ml.
