Design your first house cocktail

Starting from a known structure is easier than combining random bottles. Label your adaptation as a house version.

Step by step

  1. Choose a family: Old Fashioned, sour, Manhattan-style, highball or spritz.
  2. Choose one base spirit and one main supporting flavour.
  3. Use the ratio calculator to set a starting recipe, then mix a single serving.
  4. Adjust one quantity at a time, write the finished measures and give the drink a name only when you can repeat it.

Common mistake

Several sweet liqueurs can overwhelm a drink. When adding a liqueur, consider reducing syrup rather than simply adding another sweet ingredient.

Try it

Create a whisky and coffee Old Fashioned-style drink using a small measure of coffee liqueur instead of syrup. Compare it with your normal Old Fashioned.
